About JELIS
Journal of Education for Library and Information Science (JELIS) is a fully refereed scholarly periodical that has been published quarterly by the Association for Library and Information Science (ALISE) since 1959. JELIS seeks to support scholarly inquiry in library and information science education (LIS) through the publication of research articles, reviews, and brief communications about issues of interest to LIS educators. JELIS is edited by Kathy Burnett and Michelle Kazmer, associate professors at the Florida State University College of Communication & Information.
In their roles as editors, Drs. Burnett and Kazmer strive to attract and publish the best scholarship on education of interest to those teaching subject matter in library and information science. They have developed the following objectives for their four year term:
- To enhance the reputation of the journal by expanding its readership and the scope and quality of its contributors;
- To establish a recognized impact-factor;
- To explore the opportunities and threats of the Open Access Journal movement.
- As these goals are accomplished, JELIS will be established as a proactive leader in editorial practice as well as a premiere educational and disciplinary journal.
As these goals are accomplished, JELIS will be established as a proactive leader in editorial practice as well as a premiere educational and disciplinary journal.
