"Diversity and LIS Education: Inclusion and the Age of Information" by Paul T. Jaeger, Mega M. Subramaniam, Casandra B. Jones and John Carlo Bertot.

To foster and sustain diversity in LIS there needs to be participation at conferences such at BCALA and REFORMA. The list of RNC4 (Sept. 2011) sponsoring schools just came out.
Only 8 LIS programs will be there. ..not just talking the talk.
The logos of supporting schools..Drexel, San Jose, Emporia, Arizona, South Florida, Tennessee, Simmons, Denver are rotating on the front page of the REFORMA website.

[...] Still, despite my protestations, there are plenty of OA journals out there to choose from in ILS. And some of them do have good reputations. And, let’s face it, the only way a B-list journal becomes an A-list journal is if good scholarship is published in it. This is a slow process, like most things in academia: one good article in a second-tier journal won’t do the trick, it takes lots of good articles over the span of years. Which probably means a concerted effort on the part of the editor(s) to raise the journal’s profile. Still, this can be done, and I’ve seen it done, with at least two journals in ILS. (To give credit where it is so abundantly due, the editors who took on this probably pretty thankless reputation-building task for their respective journals are Candy Schwartz, and the team of Michelle Kazmer and Kathy Burnett.)
Your article is very interesting to learn. The school teaching system is very influential in the success rate of student learning. This post could be a guideline for me to manage an organization with a good education system.

I appreciate the amount of hardwork and research done in this post. It's not only well researched but the points that were gathered are very supportive and backed up with proofs/screenshots. - These findings I feel are going to be help a lot in the research on disciplinary trends of LIS.

But nonetheless, I'll link my colleagues to this great article.

"Overall, the major future direction for this project will be to develop an interactive educational simulation based on the cases created for and evaluated in this course and to develop best practices for delivery of the cases and the course as a whole. Once the simulation has been completed, the authors will freely disseminate the simulation, as well as other materials used in the course, via the Web."

This is a great intention. Online learning has been proven to be very practical for many students.

Actually I don't agree with the online education. It gives limited interaction between a student and teacher. But, when my sister told me that she want to get online education program because she doesn't have time to attend regular school, finally I decided to allow her. Before, I make sure that the college and professor have been accredited. At least now, she is learning the program well.

Regards,

You state that one of the future directions takes into consideration the limited number of students in the class. In the idea world, there should be a limited number of students in a class. In the real world having a limited number of students in a class is not always possible since tutors and lecturers are sometimes difficult to find.

Just my 2c.
